Spring Break Makerspace Bootcamp

Schools were out for spring break, but our Makerspace Bootcamp was in full effect all week! Our students from the previous bootcamp workshops got together during spring break to combine the skills they have learned and apply them to display projects that relate to a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). These students have learned the drag-and-drop, block coding language from the Scratch program and used the Makey-Makey electronics system to compute the coding language into computer-interactive circuit boards. On their display for their SDG, they programmed custom controls that brought audio and visual concepts to their creative displays.

Once their displays were complete their families and some friends from throughout FUSD got the chance to see their finished products. Some of the chosen SDGs were clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy, preserving ocean life, and global warming.
